Without stability we cannot know our true selves. For we are pulled apart by so many conflicting demands, so many things deserving of our attention.
– Esther deWaal, Seeking God: The Way of St. Benedict
We are pulled apart by so many conflicting demands. We may live in a culture and in a city grasping for control, but the gospel does not call us to control. Instead, the good news we meet in Jesus calls us to rest in the stability of God’s love, to listen with an open heart, and to respond with open arms.
Join us for our third annual retreat at Rivendell as we explore Benedict’s rule, ancient wisdom that still speaks today.
Through prayer, worship, hikes, workshops, free time, journalling, conversations and cooking together, this retreat will help you to gain a stronger sense of the way in which you want to live in response to God’s covenant with us.
Drawing on wisdom from scripture, from St. Benedict’s Rule, and our own experiences, we will take time for rest and relaxation as we work to apply the ancient wisdom of the church to our lives today.
Registration is $115 per person, with subsidies available for those who need them. Please make cheques payable to Christ Church Cathedral, and pass them to Marnie or Andrew.
