Pop-Up Study Groups
Pop-Up Study Groups at St. Brigids offer a casual, relaxed space for prayer, reflection or discussion – no matter what your starting point. Throughout the year we offer multiple opportunities to explore and engage in discussion about about a topic related to Christian faith.
These groups provide time and a safe space to build community outside of Sunday evening Eucharist, and are opportunities to ask questions, nurture your faith, or find ways to live that faith everyday.
Come and join us in one of our upcoming pop-up study groups. All are welcome, and you don’t need to be a regular attender of St. Brigids or any other Christ Church Cathedral congregation to participate. If you are, that’s okay too!
The Great Spiritual Migration Book Study
You can let us know you’re coming to our Pop-Up studies by filling in a registration form on the appropriate page. Registration will allow us to communicate with you if details change, and will help us know how what snacks to prepare.
‘Toward the Other’ Pop-Up Study
Throughout this Lenten series, we will discuss five short films that point to areas of fracture in society with ideas of how we can come together regardless of race, nationality, faith, sexual orientation, or identity, as one humanity for the healing of the world.
Gospel of Luke Pop-Up Study
What is Luke’s Gospel? What was the writer’s agenda? What do we need to know about Jesus and his movement? This study will be useful for those who want some more background to the gospel we will be reading each and every week during Eucharist, and those who want to come to know Jesus in deeper ways.
These questions will be at the heart of our exploration of Luke’s gospel in a five-week bible study series.
Animate Bible Pop-Up Study
What is the Bible? How do we read it? What relevance does it have for Christians today?
These questions will be at the heart of our exploration of the Bible in a seven-week series beginning Sunday September 20th at 3.00pm at St. George & St. Mark Anglican Church (2950 Laurel St., Vancouver BC)
Searching for Sunday Pop-Up Study
Our relationships with the church are complicated. There are those of us who love the church. There are those of us who have left. There are others of us who are just now finding it.
Join us this fall for four weeks of discussion as we explore Rachel Held Evans’ recently released memoir, Searching for Sunday: Loving, Leaving and Finding the Church. This Pop-Up Study is a four week series beginning Tuesday October 13, 2015 from 7.00-9.00pm at St. George & St. Mark Anglican Church (2950 Laurel St., Vancouver BC)
